Digital acceleration in retail with solutions for supply chain management

The client wanted to streamline their supply chain, logistics, and material management by unifying all processes in a single modern platform. They wanted to make it easily accessible from both the web and mobile. Furthermore, the company aimed to build the platform quickly with the ability to scale it to suppliers and customers.

N-iX helped the client develop the supply chain visibility and raw material management modules for the client’s new management platform.

The supply chain visibility module allows tracking supplier information in the supply chain. It consists of a web and an iOS application that offer comprehensive and user-friendly visualization of various supplier data, including:

• Single representation view for examining the entire list of suppliers and their details. It provides tables, charts, and historical dashboards that visualize tier levels, markets, social traceability rankings, etc. It also includes a convenient filtered search feature.
• Production view for monitoring changes over time in ordered and supplied materials during specific seasons. It allows checking the number of produced units or the quantity of manufactured raw materials and elements supplied for specific client departments.
• Related suppliers view for viewing dashboards with visualization of hierarchy tiers, supplier collaboration, and market distribution.
• Ranking and performance view for monitoring social and environmental ranking for suppliers, such as energy consumption. It also enables creating supplier improvement plans and tracking of how these criteria change over time.
• Corporate information view for keeping track of supplier contacts, locations, and tax information.

The client’s employees can use the iOS application to easily add new suppliers using a QR code on their devices. Also, our engineers helped set up the testing process for the supply chain visibility module from scratch, covering more than 90% of the code with unit tests, and more than 80% with integration tests.

Additionally, N-iX helped the client develop an MVP version of the raw material management module. It allows the client’s buyers (employees responsible for ordering raw materials for production) to see a detailed overview of all their purchases, enabling effective raw material management. We helped implement a key feature—KPIs of raw materials that outline the number of ordered materials that can be used for production and the number of expected deliverables. It improves buyers’ decision-making and ensures timely material availability for production.
