The client is a global manufacturer of car safety systems and equipment, producing a wide range of essential safety components and technology for the automotive industry.

Business challenge Business challenge

The client was using multiple internal resources (websites and platforms) to store the knowledge base with guides and FAQs about various aspects of car exploitation processes, such as crash tests. The company wanted to make it easier for employees to search for information within this knowledge base. This would reduce the required manual work, boosting employee efficiency and productivity.

ImplementationImplementation

N-iX helped the client enhance their information search capabilities by implementing full-text search functionality with prioritized search results. It allows users (automotive testers and managers) to quickly and easily find information across all internal resources. Users can search for information based on various attributes, such as document name, URL, etc. We helped refine the search results by enabling users to filter out FAQs and guides by various categories, such as “draft”, “obsolete”, “published”, etc.

N-iX engineers also implemented the capability to upload images and videos to FAQs and guides through a user-friendly UI to make them more accurate and easy to use. We set up the MinIO object storage system hosted on the client’s virtual machine to store them.

We also improved the security of one of the key internal resources (the admin platform) by implementing a single sign-on feature that enables users to log in from MS Azure with just one click.

Finally, we implemented a multi-level cache to improve the performance of one of the client’s internal resources. This ensured that over 5,000 users could effectively use it without delay or downtime.
