2022 marks the 20th anniversary of N-iX. Our story is the story of resilience, growth, innovation, positive change, and above all, it is the story of great people.
N-iX are the people who take ownership and get things done, people who are passionate about technology, people who care about each other and their clients, people who can weather any storm together.
N-iX started out as Novellix — a product startup founded by Andrew Pavliv and two other partners back in 2002. Novellix was developing Novell’s product applications for the Linux platform. The company got attention from Novell’s top management, so Novell acquired the technology from Novellix and became the first big customer of re-branded N-iX (short from Novellix), a software development service company. The entrepreneurial spirit of a startup has always been an essential part of N-iX culture.
During this period N-iX was established as a trusted software development partner for SMEs and large enterprises, including StreamServe and OpenText. We started working with several Scandinavian companies and opened an office in Sweden. It was also the time when we delivered multiple innovative solutions for startups in various domains, diversified our tech expertise, established our embedded software direction, partnered with our first fintech clients, and set up N-iX Game & VR Studio.
This was the time when N-iX expanded its portfolio with many clients across the globe and thus grew by over 300%. We opened offices in the USA and Poland, became a strategic tech partner for several fintech leaders, established Data Analytics services, grew our domain expertise in healthcare, media, energy, telecom, and other industries. Also, N-iX got multiple industry awards, including Global Outsourcing 100 by IAOP and Inc. 5000 Europe.
After passing the milestone of 1,000 specialists, we leveraged our increased internal capacity and a strong employer brand to take on more enterprise projects. We enriched our portfolio with Fortune 500 companies and world leaders in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, retail, to name a few. With our clients’ increasing need for complex end-to-end solutions, we set up N-iX Technology Office - a CTO organization that helps our partners solve a wide variety of their tech and business challenges. Also, we built a strong tech ecosystem and partnerships with AWS, GCP, OpenText, SAP, and Microsoft.
Over its history, N-iX has demonstrated resilience and stood through several global and local crises, including the 2008 financial crisis, Covid and a shift to hybrid work, Russian attack on Ukraine in 2014 and 2022. All this turbulence and change made our company stronger and unveiled new opportunities. So today, N-iX is growing its development centres across Europe and plans for further global expansion.
N-iX was founded when the Ukrainian IT industry was just getting off the ground but we have always been passionate about technology and its potential to change the world. Our mission has always been to make a positive difference in people’s lives by creating transformative tech solutions.
In 2009, N-iX together with SoftServe and ELEKS founded Lviv IT Cluster, the first and today the biggest IT organization in Ukraine. Together, we have launched dozens of projects shaping the local IT industry as we know it today, supporting education, tech events, infrastructure projects and more.
In 2015, Andrew Pavliv, N-iX Founder and CEO, started a scholarship fund for talented UCU students. And in 2018, N-iX Charity Fund was created to support young talents and help them get quality education. The company supported universities, educational projects, local communities, and has been an active member of numerous industry associations.
The company joined the global fight against COVID-19 and donated over $115,000 thanks to N-iX Fund for fighting COVID-19. Together with our specialists, we purchased thousands of units of medical equipment and Covid-19 tests, as well as organized vaccination of our specialists and their families.
After an unprovoked full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, N-iX donated over $1,270,000 to support Ukraine, its defenders and people who suffered from the war. The help included dozens of SUVs and vans, Starlink stations, computer equipment, bulletproof vests, humanitarian aid, and more.
As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of N-iX, we are looking back at our journey and thinking about how the world and our company have changed during this time. For over two decades, we’ve pursued our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients, our people, and our society by leveraging technology and innovation. Passing this important milestone, we are also looking into the future with a vision of a more sustainable, just, and peaceful world. And we believe we can build this future with technology.
My partners and I started N-iX as a product startup in 2002. Called Novellix back then, our company was developing Novell’s product applications for the Linux platform. After Novell acquired our technology, we’ve transformed into N-iX, a software development service company. Through the years, we’ve carried our culture of entrepreneurship, encouraging our people to take initiative and ownership, dream big, and get things done.
The story of N-iX is the story of tech and service excellence as we’ve always tried to stay on the verge of innovation, developing our expertise and offering more value to our customers. For many of them, we have become a long-term strategic partner, working together for six, eight, ten, fourteen, and more years. With our “Presence” strategy, today, we focus on expanding our presence across Europe, the USA, the UK, Latin America, and other markets to be closer to our clients and further strengthen our partnerships.
The story of N-iX is also the story of amazing people. In these 20 years, we’ve worked with over 350 clients from across the globe and today our team unites more than 2,000 experts. Together, we’ve gone through many storms, demonstrating resilience, adapting to change, and turning the challenges we’ve faced into opportunities.
